When I was asked to illustrate the 6 books of W.F. Wu based on Isaac Asimov Robots, I immediatly put myself to read them. The main character, the most perfect morphing human-like robot ever made jumps up and down the timeline replacing different personalities of history. Instead on focusing on that concept I wanted to give a different view, much more in contact with David Cronenberg or Shintia Tsukamoto-san ideas: The melting or joining of Metal and Flesh, Machine and Blood. The first 3 books are dedicated to machinery only, while the 3 last ones show organic compounds mixed with metals....In the very last 6th book "Robots in Time: Invader" we reach the “brain inside machine” stage (Or human brain "invaded" by machinery). |
